“Healthy Steps - Moving Toward Health With The Lebed Method”
Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m. in the Fitness Center
North Puget Cancer Center at United General Hospital is pleased to offer a special class featuring gentle exercise, simple dance movements, uplifting music, laughter and camaraderie. Based on the Lebed Method, which was developed by surgeons and dance movement specialists. The free class is designed for cancer survivors and other chronic illnesses.
Medicare Part D Classes
The Office of Insurance Commissioner’s Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) HelpLine can assist you with answering questions about Medicare’s Part D and provide help on Medicare and other health care-related topics. Free classes on Medicare Part D will be offered at the following locations: LaConner Senior Center on Thursday, September 14 at 12:30 p.m. Concrete Senior Center on Monday, September 20 at 11:30 a.m. Sedro-Woolley Senior Center on Wednesday, September 22 at 10:30 a.m. Mount Vernon Senior Center on September 27 at 11:00 a.m. Burlington Senior Center on Thursday, September 30 at 11:00 a.m. Skagit Valley Hospital on Tuesday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. United General Hospital on Wednesday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. For assistance, you can call United General Hospital at (360) 856-7298 or (360) 428-2345, which sponsors the SHIBA HelpLine in Skagit County.
Yoga Classes at United
Required Participation Form
Beginner’s Yoga 6-week sessions are offered at United General Hospital beginning September 13 at 4:30 p.m. and September 15 at 6:00 p.m. This class is designed for the first time or limited ability yoga participant. A basic foundation of awareness, stretches and exercises gently introduces yoga to beginners and offers adaptations for those with physical limitations. Cost per series is $47. Level I Yoga 12-week sessions will begin September 13 at 6:00 p.m. at United General Hospital. Level I is for people who have had one session to one year of yoga instruction. Alignment, core strength and balance are developed as a solid foundation for the primary yoga poses. Cost per series is $93.
Level II Yoga 12-week sessions will begin September 15 at 4:30 p.m. at United General Hospital. Level II yoga is for experienced participants who have already taken Lynne’s Level 1 class or who have had previous yoga instruction. The stretches and exercises at this level build onto basic material and work toward more challenging yoga poses. Cost per series is $93. |
