Healthy foods (especially fresh fruits and veggies) help us feel our best. Eating well gives us energy and helps us live longer, healthier lives. Through our Healthy Eating pillar, we aim to ensure people of all ages have the nutrition resources they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

Basic Food (also known as SNAP)

Every person has a right to enough nutritious food for an active and healthy life. Basic Food (also known as SNAP) is a program that helps low-income households afford groceries. Visit this page for information about eligibility and help with an application.

Farm to School

Growing, preparing, and tasting fruits and veggies connects kids to the foods they eat and fosters awareness of how food choices make a difference. Farm to School is made up of several programs including Harvest of the Month, school gardens, and cooking with kids.

Fruit & Veggie Prescription Program (FVRx)

This innovative program provides enrolled participants with opportunities to take part in nutrition and cooking lessons and receive vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

WIC (Women, Infants, and Children)

Healthy foods provide a strong start in life. WIC is a nutrition program for pregnant people and children under five that helps families buy groceries each month. In addition, WIC provides wellness checks, breastfeeding support, and other services for growing families.
