Let HOPE be our Guide
HOPE stands for Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences. HOPE “is a new way of seeing and talking about experiences that support children’s growth and development into healthy, resilient adults. We now know that even in the face of adversity, key positive experiences help us heal. Although the effects of trauma can be serious, many adults have overcome their own trauma and now lead healthy, productive lives as a result of those positive experiences.”
Training around ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) has spread far and wide and has offered us a better understanding of how early trauma impacts future health. Fewer trainings, however, focus on what can be done to address or even reverse such harms. We are excited to offer an engaging training from the groundbreaking research and experts in HOPE, Dr. Bob Sege and Dr. Dina Burstein. This two-hour training will begin with an hour of knowledge building and education of the science behind HOPE. For the second hour we will be separated into two groups, Early Childhood and Adolescence, with time to discuss actionable ways to take what you will learn about HOPEs into your work and lives.
This incredible training is offered at no cost to attendees through a STOP Act grant from SAMHSA. Please register to receive the pre-training survey and meeting link.
