AUDIENCE: Professionals and individuals in Skagit County who work with, or are in contact with, those who may experience mental health crises. All attendees must be 18+

Payment for Mental Health First Aid classes is non-refundable. If you cannot attend the in-person class on your scheduled date, please contact us as soon as possible. You may be able to reschedule to a future class or transfer your spot to another person.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the perfect course for anyone seeking additional skills and knowledge related to mental health. The material from MHFA has been shown to be effective in educating individuals and communities to navigate mental health scenarios and connect with professional support. Class material covers a range of mental health topics, including (but not limited to):

  • defining and recognizing a variety of mental health challenges
  • the impact of mental health on community health
  • the importance of early intervention
  • using person-first language and breaking down stigma
  • responding appropriately in crisis scenarios
  • the steps to compassionately supporting those in need

CEUs: Certification is provided by MHFA that is good for three years. The MHFA certificate can then be used to attain CEUs from the attendee’s credentialling institution if so desired. Certification is only issued if participants attend all hours of the training and complete necessary online work.
