Class Descriptions
CPR, AED, and First Aid:
Led by American Red Cross certified trainers. Participants receive a certification good for 2 years that satisfies most OSHA-mandated job requirements. Due to the hands-on nature of the class, this is available in person only.
Class length: approximately 4.5 hours
QPR Suicide Prevention (free):
In Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), participants learn the 3 steps anyone can take to save a life from suicide.
Class length: approximately 1.5 hours
Overdose Response (free):
Participants learn how to recognize and respond to an overdose, including how to deliver Narcan (naloxone).
Class length: approximately 45 minutes
Youth Mental Health First Aid (free)
This class teaches adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in young people ages 12-18. Participants can earn certification as a Youth Mental Health First Aider.
Class length: approximately 5 hours, plus 2 hours of self-study online in advance.
Adult Mental Health First Aid (free):
This class teaches adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in community members. Participants can receive certification as an Adult Mental Health First Aider.
Class length: approximately 6 hours, plus 2 hours of self-study online in advance.
