Spring 2025 Community Group Nature Walks
Join us this Spring as we explore parks and trails in our area! Each group walk location will help to bring connections and community while allowing you to experience the many benefits of time outdoors. All parts of the walk are challenge-by-choice with options for differing intensities.

Tuesday, April 22nd 10am – 11am at Northern State Trail
Northern State Trail
From Highway 20 going East, turn left onto Helmick Road, and the parking lot will be about 0.3 miles down the road on your left.
Join us this Earth Day for a 2.2-mile mini-loop with a 50-foot climb, providing a sprawling view of grassy area, local nature, and even a small “ghost town” at the hike’s summit.
Wednesday, April 30th 10am – 11am at Burlington Dike Trail

Heading west on Hwy 20 from Sedro-Woolley, turn left onto Cascade Highway, then make a quick left onto N Anacortes St. Follow the road for about 1.4 mi, then turn left onto E Whitmarsh Rd. About half a mile down the road, the parking lot will be on your left. We will be parking near the disc golf course.
This 2.2-mile trek on gravel provides a stunning view of Skagit River for hikers, with maple and cottonwood trees providing shelter for small wildlife and shade for walkers.
Thursday, May 8th 10am – 11am at Padilla Bay Shortline Trail (North Entrance)

Take I-5 to Mount Vernon. Then, heading west on Highway 20 towards Anacortes for 7.3 miles, take a right onto Bayview Edison Rd. Stay on Bayview Edison Rd for 3.5 miles until you reach 2nd St on the right. Follow the Padilla Bay Shore Trail parking lot signs. (Once you turn right onto 2nd Street, the parking lot should be there on your left).
A beautiful 2.25-mile flat walk along the saltwater edge of the Skagit river, there are ample opportunities to observe local wildlife and surrounding mountains. If you have them, bring binoculars for birds!
